High-power thin-disk lasers emitting beams with axially-symmetric polarizations

Abstract We present the intracavity generation of beams with radial polarization at an average output power 750 W and optical efficiency 43% from a continuous wave thin-disk laser. Circular grating waveguide couplers (GWOC) were used to select polarization. The sensitivity polarizing function GWOC regards fabrication tolerances is also analysed in details particular emphasis on effect duty cycle geometrical profile gratings. Furthermore, we conversion femtosecond laser pulses linear azimuthal using nanograting-based converter. Azimuthally polarized up 850 W, pulse duration 400 fs repetition rate 1 MHz generated this way >90%.
